Sunday School Classes
Crawford Street United Methodist Church offers Sunday School Classes for a variety of ages and interests. Here’s information on our adult Sunday School Classes.
A class compromised of both married couples and singles that combine discussion and lecture. Study materials are geared towards fostering Christian growth and enrichment. This class participates in periodic social activities as well as service projects.
This class in studying the International Lesson Series. Taught by a rotating group of caring teachers, this class participates in social activities and spends many volunteer hours on church projects. (Age 50+)
Singles and couples of all ages are welcome to come and engage in lively, open, and challenging discussion in an accepting atmosphere. This class uses video-driven Bible Study Series by authors like Chip Ingram, Lysa TerKeurst, and Adam Hamilton to help expand their spiritual faith. They also enjoy social activities outside of Sunday mornings in each other’s homes.
This class enjoys challenging and frank discussions. These discussions are guided by “The Adult Bible Studies.” This class is open to married or single adults. (Age 30’s and 40’s)
This class has been reading through the Bible for several years. This class is made up of couples of all ages.
We offer Children’s Sunday School Classes for Children ages 2 through 6th grade, with fun, loving teachers ready to greet children with a smile and remind them that God is their friend.
Welcome to Journey Kids! At Crawford Street UMC, we invite everyone to Join Our Journey. Our Journey with Jesus begins when we are children. Journey Kids, our Children’s Ministry at Crawford Street United Methodist Church, is a coordinated ministry with Sunday School, Sunday evenings, and Tuesday & Wednesday activities.

First Steps
Ages 2 – 4 Year Olds
Here our younger children gather at 9:45 in the nursery classroom and take their first steps in learning the stories of Jesus and His love. Beginning with our Bible story, we move to the table for songs, signing, and other activities.
Second Steps
K-5 through Second Grade
Here our younger children gather at 9:45 in the Children’s Church classroom and take their first steps in learning the stories of Jesus and His love. Beginning in our tent area with Bible story, we then move to the tables for crafts, games, and other activities.
The Bridge to Confirmation
Third Grade through Sixth Grade
As our children get a little older, they begin their journey across the Bridge to Confirmation. Beginning at 9:45, this group of older kids continues to deepen their faith, with an eye toward Confirmation in January of Sixth Grade. This class meets on the 2nd floor of the Education Wing.

January of Sixth Grade
In January, our Sixth graders cross the Bridge to Confirmation and undertake a deep dive into their faith as they learn the rich history of the church and explore rich theological topics in Confirmation. As confirmands, they also participate in retreats and times of fellowship together.
Journey Kids – Sensational Sunday Evenings
Pottery!

On Sunday evenings throughout the school year, we will offer our kids the unique opportunity to learn and participate in pottery making in a Christian setting. We gather on Sunday evening from 5:00 until 5:30, with light refreshments and meet from 5:30 until 6:30.
Journey Kids – Terrific Tuesday Music!

Our kids will come together after school at 3:15 for our Children’s Music Ministry. Their time together will include children’s choir, choir chimes, percussion instruments, a little down time, and a snack. We will wrap up around 4:30, but we will accommodate our working parents. Transportation from school will be provided by the church for those that need it.
Journey Kids – Wonderful Wednesday
Fellowship and Learning!
On Wednesdays, a nursery is provided from 6:00-7:00pm for children whose parents are in the Adult Chancel Choir. This room is located in the nursery on the Second Floor next door to the sanctuary.

Children ages three to five years old attend worship with their families for a little while then are dismissed to Children’s Church after the Children’s Sermon. While there, they participate in a short Bible lesson then enjoy reading and playing in centers with friends.
